1941 AK Chevrolet Pick Up Find
A survivor Chevy Farm Pick Up
This 1941 AK Chevrolet Pick Up Find was somewhat local as it was found in my state by the border or Pennsylvania. It is a one owner that worked on a single farm for it’s life making it somewhat of a survivor?
Not only do I not have that much information about this truck but, my Note3 Samsung cell phone that I was taking the videos with seems to have dumped the footage of the truck running 🙁
I have up to the point when we are trying to get the truck started but it failed. We then had to take the starter off and rebuild that as it was one of the points that failed. Then the spark plugs had to be rebuilt so to speak as we couldn’t find spark plugs the size of the engine. If you look closely they look like they should be for Weedwhacker not for a full size engine. Besides when’s the last time you saw one of the spark plug sandblasters in use 😛
Then after the starter was rebuilt it came time for the brakes as they were seized up. Then the carburetor had to be removed and rebuilt with no gaskets available for that either. However this is what makes me mad because when the carb was put back on the engine it started right up and idled perfectly. It seriously started like one turn of the engine then of course the cell phone dumped all the video of that 🙁
After I left they pulled it out drove down the road for a test drive then loaded it on the trailer to go to Hershey PA for the auction. So I missed it making its maiden voyage after how many decades? It did sell and it’s going to be coming back for shipping so maybe I can get more video of it then!
