1959 Chevrolet Impala back lot find

So I remember when the last owner was driving this ’59 Impala daily on the streets before he traded it in on another car from the lot it’s at now 🙄

Now onto the details of when the guy was driving this car daily almost a decade or so ago 😕
To say he was an odd bird would be quite an understatement. From what I was told he found this either on the want ads or Craigslist if it was a thing when he got it? He is not a mechanical guy in anyway shape or form it would also seem. However, he seemed to have fallen in love with this car so he bought it and started to daily drive it.

Now the first problem he had was it got dirt in the carburetor as there was no filter in the line. So he purchased a new one from the store that was Pre Autozone buy us. He didn’t install a filter as he said the car didn’t have one so why would he install one 😕 Next carb had same problem with getting dirt in it and he took this carb back claiming it was defective. I think he went through 3 or more before he finally gave up and traded this in on a later model FWD car to use as a DD 😕

The engine or trans went on that car at one point so he purchased a 1981 Malibu wagon that I had put on the lot to sell. After he purchased my car that was a solid nice wagon that I was going to put a V8 into when I had it but, I ran out of room for a large car like this in my driveway. Anyway it failed emissions for visible smoke (it didn’t have it when I owned it as I had Mobil One in it) so he had his hack mechanic remove the smog pump off of the car 🙄 He then went back and they failed it again of course.

He then asked for his money back off of me after he had his mechanic destroy most of the smog emissions on the engine. I said no of course so he decided to get even with my by taking it to the scrap yard and having them crush the car 😯

Yeah sure good luck selling it now to get your money back out of it!
